A section of the Spring 2026 issue of the celebrated French journal Critique (no. 945) is devoted to Professor Shu-mei Shih’s role as the leading figure in the field of Sinophone Studies. It includes a selection of her works translated into French, three essays on different aspects of her work (her notion of the Sinophone; decolonizing Taiwan Studies; and transnationalism and feminism in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China), and an interview with her.
