About the Talk
What does humiliation mean and how does it work in and on our political world? From Trump’s rhetoric to ISIS video propaganda to recent images of deportees in El Salvador’s CECOT prison, humiliation pervades our politics, speaking through images and bodies as well as words. Drawing from her new book, Roxanne Euben provides an understanding of humiliation built up from the ground, from how people actually invoke, enact and resist it.
